What it is

The labyrinth bushing is a mechanical sealing component used at critical points of wind turbines — gearboxes, main bearings, generators. Its function is to retain internal lubricant and block the entry of water, dust and particulates that can compromise bearings and gears. The labyrinth geometry creates multiple pressure chambers that dissipate the flow from outside in.
